Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will not do any ads, thanks to Karan Johar

Gone are the days when models used to promote brands in television commercials. Nowadays, Bollywood celebrities and cricketers have taken over from the models and brands are also roping them in left, right and centre. The latest fad is taking a star couple for a brand endorsement. John Abraham-Bipasha Basu, Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma, Kajol-Ajay Devgn, Sushant Singh Rajput-Kriti Sanon all have endorsed some or the other brands. The latest ‘It’ couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were also approached for a celeb brand endorsement but apparently, the duo has said no to the deal because of Karan Johar.

Director-producer Karan, who is a mentor to both Alia and Ranbir actually asked them to refrain from signing any brands right now. The two powerhouse actors have reportedly started dating as they are working on their forthcoming film Brahmastra that also features Amitabh Bachchan. Karan advised them not to sign on any brand deals as it would lessen the interest level in their pairing. Since their film Brahmastra will release on Independence Day only next year, he advised them that if they endorse a brand during Brahmastra promotions it will help the film and it doesn’t make sense to expose their chemistry so soon.
