Salman Khan's 'Race 3' gets decent opening, mints Rs 29.17 Cr

Bhaijaan Salman Khan is back with his Eidi for this year in the form of Remo D'souza directorial multi-starrer Race 3. His cryptic tweets, promotional events, and song releases created quite a buzz for the film and made us believe that the next blockbuster is here. With its box office opening of Rs. 29.17 Cr, we're now sure what the future will unfold.

The film has placed itself on the top of 2018's list of Biggest Openers, as reported by trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Despite backlash, Race 3 has trumped films like Baaghi 2, PadmaavatVeere Di Wedding and PadMan with its opening day collections.

Despite critics bashing the film, there is no end to Salman's stardom. His fans are still rushing to the multiplexes and cinema theatres to catch him beat up the bad guys left right and center and romance his heroine, like no one else. The audience is pouring in, in large numbers for Race 3 across quarters, showcasing a bumper opening for a non-festive release. The Day 1 collections will be followed by a festive weekend, with a sharp upward trend predicted over Saturday and Sunday, making for a strong first weekend total.

The film surely is a special one, also featuring Anil Kapoor, Daisy Shah, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem, Freddy Daruwala. Salman turned producer, distributor, and lyricist for Race 3. Bobby made his 'big comeback'. Remo made his first action directorial. Salman's alleged girlfriend Iulia Vantur made her singing debut with 'Selfish'. With so much happening already, we're wondering what is next?

Salman and Eid have a long history of blockbuster releases. Race 3 turned out to be his sixth Eid release to have made under Rs. 30 crores on opening day. Ek Tha Tiger and Sultan, both Eid releases, made over the 30 crore mark upon releasing during the festivities.

While Salman is supposedly safe from all the critics, reviews and rating, Twitterati and non-Salman fans had their own fun after watching the film. Twitterati reacted to the film on Twitter and a number of hilarious memes, gifs and pictures are doing the rounds. The trailer of the film along with its dialogues had also received enough backlash but it was nothing compared to the torrential downpour that the film has been bringing. Are you watching Race 3 this weekend?
