We cannot wait to see what director Shankar has in store with his upcoming science fiction film, 2.0. Huge monies have been poured into this Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar thriller, which is said to be one of the most expensive films made in India.
While the first look and the audio of the movie have already created waves of excitement, fans are eagerly awaiting a visual treat. Going by the first look stills, the official making-of videos, the working stills and the unfinished teaser of the film, which got leaked, director Shankar's film appears to be about radiation caused due to mobile phone usage and its side effects.

The film, which is a sequel to Shankar’s 2010 film Enthiran (Robot), reportedly has a budget of approximately Rs.400 crore. It has been delayed due to high-end post-production work. The film, a sci-fi thriller, requires considerable special effects, which are an expensive business.
Now it emerges that the makers have pumped in an additional Rs.100 crore into the film, to ensure it is on par with international VFX films. No expense is being spared to create a technologically sound film; understandable as director Shankar is renowned for being a perfectionist.
The film has met with continuous delays and the release date has already been moved a few times, due to exhaustive VFX. It is now poised for a January 25, 2019 release.
While it was assumed that Rajinikanth would reprise his role as Vaseegaran and Chitti, there has been speculation that the story of 2.0 is not a continuation of Enthiran.
The film will also mark Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s entry into Kollywood. The actor, who is playing the villain in the movie, is said to have a very powerful and interesting character. Amy Jackson also stars in the film and is paired opposite Rajinikanth.
