Come July 20 and a star is reborn. 21-year-old Janhvi Kapoor is entering the world of glitz and showbiz with Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak, alongside Ishaan Khatter. The budding actress is a spitting image of her mother Sridevi, and more than often offers heartstopping flashes of the late veteran.
Janhvi is finally living her dream of pursuing acting, and while the entire Kapoor Khandaan stands by her in support, the void left by Sridevi's untimely demise is felt stronger than ever. Echoing our feelings at the trailer launch of Dhadak was Janhvi's younger sister Khushi Kapoor. The otherwise cheerful teenager broke down into tears on the day, only to be consoled with a warm hug by her big sister. However, in an interview, Janhvi revealed she was in shock seeing Khushi cry. We all know she has been the fighter kind, and thus, it's only natural!
"Both of us were in shock. In my entire life, I've probably seen her crying only two or three times. So we just hugged each other, and she said, 'I don't know why I am crying'. It was a very special moment. Maybe I have done something very, very wrong and that's why she was crying!," Janhvi said in a conversation with a leading news portal.
Talking about the qualities imbibed from her mother, Janhvi told the news portal, "My mom always used to say that in order to be a good actor, you need to be a good person. Because the camera is very smart. If you're not a good person, if you're fake, it shows. If your heart is not clean, it is visible."
The girls have been each other's strength and together took care of themselves and their father Boney Kapoor since their mother left for heavenly abode in February earlier this year. But we are sure, up above, a proud mamma is smiling upon these sisters.
