Acting is not as easy as it seems on the 70 mm.  Playing a character take a real and the right balance of emotions. And thus, every great actor is a star but the vice-a-versa does not hold true. But more than often, actors are shooting for multiple projects simultaneously, so how do they maintain the very essence of every character, and slip in and out of it when needed? It differs from actor to actor, albeit in case of Ranbir Kapoor, all it takes is a perfume!

To maintain perspective of each role and to get into it, Ranbir keeps changing his perfume with every different one. And thereby maintains a unique fragrance to each one. In an interview with a senior journalist for an entertainment news portal, the Rockstar revealed,

"I do stupid superficial things – I use one perfume for one character because my sense of smell is very strong and any sense or sensation – if it’s touch, smell, feel – if it can kind of remind you of that character, it helps."

 

He further added, "You know what happens is that sometimes you’re doing two films at a time, like I was doing Wake Up Sid and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani simultaneously. I was doing 10 days here, then going and shooting 12 days here, then coming back for 10 days. So two days overlap happens of one character going into the other character. Then this thing started helping me. I had one perfume for Wake Up Sid, I had one perfume for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and when I put that on and stepped out of my trailer, it kind of put into perspective, ‘Okay I’m this guy right now, I’m playing this character.’ I also like particular shoes for different characters."

In his conversation, Ranbir also talked on the lines of his last outing Jagga Jasoos which burned a hole in his pocket, since he also produced it.

"It (Jagga Jasoos) broke my heart and my bank. It was a very, I can’t say complicated character because it’s a pretty simple and a pretty basic one, but there were a lot of complications behind it to make it look that simple and basic."

Ranbir has been on a career joyride until a series of flops came along. The debacle of his previous releases makes him desperate for Sanju to work, as he revealed in a media interaction that the box office collection matters to him.
