Dhadak inside goss: Janhvi and Ishaan were like Tom and Jerry on the set

GenNext is supposed to be a competitive lot but there’s only loads of affection between Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. Shooting their big Bollywood debut together has brought them close and we see ample proof of their bonding as they promote Dhadak which releases this July.

For starters, they are often spotted hanging out for dinners with friends and crew members. Recently, the pair was in a mall to promote their forthcoming film when suddenly they were attacked by a mob of fans who were also selfie addicts and would not take no for an answer. Ishaan sprang into action and escorted his co-star to the car, ensuring she was safe.

Ishaan, who is the more effusive and chatty of the two, recently opened up about his experience working with Janvhi. “It’s been delightful working with her. In fact, Janhvi and I were like Tom and Jerry on the set.”

Okay, so cat and mouse kinda squabbles are not what we expected but apparently, that’s just how it was. He also let's slip a few inside details, revealing that Janhvi is a bit clumsy and unintentionally funny, which brings a smile to everyone’s face. “Having said that, she is very dedicated, involved and sincere. She is as much in love with the film as I am,” he adds.

While Ishaan and Janhvi are young, both are very much on the ball when it comes to their profession. Actor Ashutosh Rana, who plays Janhvi Kapoor's father in Dhadak, recently revealed that working with this pair helped him 'sharpen his skills.'

Ashutosh, who apparently plays a narrow-minded landlord in the film, shared, “While Janhvi and Ishaan are young, you cannot be laidback around them either. They have mastered the skill of being in front of the camera. For someone experienced and considered a good actor, they never let me feel relaxed. They have shown me that age doesn't matter, the edge does.”
