Remo won’t reduce production cost of Varun Dhawan-Katrina Kaif dance film

In an industry where you are only as good as your last Friday, Remo D’Souza is facing swift retribution. After the film received a mixed response from audiences and failed to live up to expectations, the tide has already turned.

For starters, Remo’s Race 3 hero Salman Khan has reportedly pulled out of his dance flick which he was supposed to start shooting once he completed Dabangg 3 and Bharat.
Now there are more consequences… Apparently, T-Series, the producer of Remo’s dance film starring Varun Dhawan and Katrina Kaif is also having second thoughts… The film, which is the next in the ABCD franchise, is still on track but the production house wants a reduction in its budget.

T-Series had a meeting with Remo D'Souza last week wherein they put their point across. The budget of the film had been originally pegged at Rs.100 crore. Suddenly doubtful about its power to recover the investment the producers apparently pushed for lower costs.
However, this time Remo is standing his ground. He is well aware of the effort that goes into making a 4DX film, which the dance flick is. He is also confident that with the very successful Varun in the lead opposite Katrina, raking in profits will not be difficult. Which is why he refused to give in to their suggestion. Word is that T-Series has stepped back and has okayed the amount.

Not long ago there was news that Remo was to be paid around Rs.12 crore as directorial fees for the dance film. Post-Race 3, he was supposedly also asked to take a cut in salary.
The film will go on floors this December and will be largely shot in London. The two-month long schedule will be followed by a short one in Mumbai. The yet-to-be-titled dance film is all set to hit theatres on November 8, 2019.
