As much adorable the Dhadak trailer was in the start, it was equally heart-wrenching and gripping in the later half. But don't let all that seriousness fool you, because once the camera stopped rolling, Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter were in a league of their own. In a recent video shared by Dharma Productions, these behind the scenes stories will have you crackling in no time.
Janhvi, 21, and Ishaan, 22, according to their director Shashank Khaitan were like "babies" at a "crèche":
"It started with me opening a new crèche for babies and their parents would just drop these kids away at my place and say, "Do ghanta inko entertain rakho. Agar kuch sikha sake toh sikha bhi dena.""
And naturally, just like any student who is scared of their teacher, Janhvi and Ishaan were no different.
Ishaan: One of our unit members was kind enough to lend us a bike. And if he (Shashank) found out that we went out for a bike ride, he would have slaughtered us.
Janhvi: Like there would be no Dhadak.
However, the fun doesn't stop there. The two rode their bike right into him in the middle of the busy street but slyly moved past him.
Janhvi: He was two feet away from us and we looked the other way and rode past him.
The director also dished how his leading stars taught him the art of millennial language.
Shashank: I was trying to understand which language they speak in.
Janhvi: We taught him BT which means-
Shashank: Bad Trip.
Janhvi: ...and 'I'm down'
Shashank: ...and yeah, if they like something it's "sick"
Janhvi: Ir if something is insane it's 'whack' or if he is really mean to us then 'savage'.
But that is not all the fun that went down. Ishaan too pulled Shashank's leg in a 'not-so-subtle' manner, only to ask the cameraman delete the footage in fear of salary reduction. Sounds like every employee, isn't it?
Ishaan: Humko iss light mai kaam karwa te hai aur phir bolte hai chauw mai... Tumhare liye itne takleef uthani padti hai humein. Aur director saab baithe rehte hai tent mai... This is the reality of filmmaking... Kaat dena bhai. Mera salary kam ho jayegi.
What a hoot!
We’re already counting days until July 20, 2018, when the film will officially hit the theatres. Mark your calendars for this one!
