Hear this: Sushant wants Sara to get equal mileage in 'Kedarnath'

Going by the look of things, Sushant Singh Rajput is always concerned with the bigger picture. Last November, the leading man of Kedarnath had revealed his apprehensions about debutante Sara Ali Khan’s character in the film. He was supposedly also upset with the output of the film at that point.

Many twists and turns later, the Abhishek Kapoor directorial is back on track but Sushant is watchful as ever. After viewing the recent rushes of the disaster film, he has let it be known that both he and Sara should get equal footage in the film. Apparently, as Sara’s first co-star, he feels responsible for her and looks out for her interests. This is why he is keen that she gets her fair quota of importance in this love saga.

Sushant has supposedly had a chat with the director and has informed him that Sara is given as much screen time as him. This is rather unexpectedly gentlemanly behaviour in an industry where the leading men really couldn’t be bothered about the length of their co-stars’ roles. However, Sushant is supposedly keen that Sara makes her mark as a powerful performer with her debut film.

It remains to be seen how much of his suggestions director Abhishek takes. The film is currently in post-production and the editing will decide the shape and length of Sara’s role. However, it is heartening to see Sushant do his bit to ensure that the young actress gets a fair deal. Don’t forget, things are a tad rocky between her and the director after he hauled her to court for signing on another film and failing to give the required dates for Kedarnath.

The two parties reached an out of court settlement, but Sushant apparently wanted to make sure that Sara did not bear the brunt of it. The film releases on November 30 and while Sushant has completed shooting his part last week, Sara is still completing her schedule.
