Shah Rukh Khan just completed 26 years in Bollywood and in his repertoire he has given us some memorable and remarkable films like Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Baazigar, Swades and others. One of SRK’s must-watch films is Chak De India which in a way started the trend of sports films in India. It remains one of Shah Rukh’s most honest and ultimate portrayals in which he essayed the role of a coach of women’s hockey team. Last year the film also clocked 10 years and SRK reconnected with his director Shimit Amin, and if reports are to be believed now the duo are about to reunite once again for a film.

As per reports, Shimit is planning a two-hero film which has caught Shah Rukh’s attention. SRK had liked the story and had asked Shimit to work on it. Now, after a year, apparently, the director has got in touch with Shah Rukh once again to discuss the script that he was working on. Shah Rukh is not only planning to act in the film but also wants to produce it under his banner. The film is supposed to be a period drama featuring two-heroes in the lead. Ayushmann Khurrana’s name is being speculated to play the second lead but the cast of the film would only be announced once Shah Rukh signs on the dotted line.
On the work front, SRK is busy wrapping up work on Aanand L Rai’s Zero that also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead. He is also supposed to start work on astronaut Rakesh Sharma’s biopic Salute and Karan Johar’s next as well.
Shah Rukh’s Chak De India was groundbreaking in a way that it did not have a lead female character, it was a sports film based on hockey (not the dandiest of sports favoured by Indian masses) and had women players as the protagonists. However, the film still became a benchmark and is still remembered for its story, superb acting, direction and musical score. We hope, that Shimit and Shah Rukh join hands soon and bring to us a substantial film that would once again make us swear by.
