Taapsee Pannu has been a delight since day one. With movies like Naam Shabana, Pink, The Ghazi Attack, Taapsee has brought more strength to her characters. The damsel is not in distress anymore waiting for her knight in a shining armour to rescue her. She has a packed year with Soorma, Mulk and Manmarziyan lined up for releases. Taapsee is currently in Glasgow shooting for Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla.

In the film, Taapsee will be seen as a strong, powerful and driven character. Interestingly, she has found the perfect source of inspiration for her role. It has been known that the actress has turned to popular American television show Scandal’s lead character Olivia Pope for inspiration.

Kerry Washington plays the role of Olivia in the crime-drama and is a highly regarded lawyer who not only runs her business successfully but also advises the President of the United States. We’re sure Taapsee has struck the perfect chord here and our expectations are already sky-rocketing.

It is no secret that Hollywood, especially the American television shows, has managed to deliver law and drama in the best ways possible. Taapsee and the Badla team kept Kerry Washington in mind while planning outfits for the actress from pencil skirts, crisp shirts & stilettos to pantsuits that are pinstriped with clean cuts and dresses that make heads turn. While we have seen Kerry rock her look we cannot wait to see Taapsee strut her power in Badla.

The actress said, “It’s a character I have never done before so wanted to have an interesting look put together. She is a sharp and intimidating woman who dresses up in an extremely prim n proper way. Kerry Washington’s look was a perfect reference point for us and if I can achieve something even close to hers I think we will be good,”

Taapsee will be seen next in Soorma alongside Diljit Dosanjh in a Hockey Biopic about Sandeep Singh releasing on July 13, 2018.
