As reported by a leading daily, the producers are in the process of finalizing other actors in the ensemble cast film. Since Amitabh’s character drives the prequel he is an integral part of Aankhen 2 as well.
When producer Gaurang announced the sequel in 2016, the film’s cast included Amitabh, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Arshad Warsi and south actress Regina Cassandra. However, the film was stalled as it got embroiled in a legal battle which ended last year in March. The producer was also scolded by the High Court for not following its orders and was issued notices that neither he nor any of his companies had any rights to make the film’s sequel.
The original film was a bank heist where three blind men played by Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal rob a bank with the help of the disgraced bank manager played by Amitabh. Sushmita plays the role of a blind instructor who trains them. The film was an adaptation of Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Gujarati play Andhalo Pato (Blindman's Buff). He had directed the original film too.
