Fanney Khan trailer is out! Going by the nearly three-minute-long sneak peek of the much-awaited film, it is a joyous roller coaster of emotions. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays a glamorous singer Baby Singh, who takes home a fat paycheque with every public appearance she makes. Rajkummar Rao portrays a relatable young man who tries to help his friend in tough times, and is also a big fan of Baby. Anil Kapoor essays the titular role Fanney Khan who used to be ‘orchestra ke fankaar’ during his early days. Kapoor is a doting daddy to a teenager daughter, ready to go to any lengths and take any amount of risks to make his young one fulfil her dream of becoming a singer.
Fanney Khan is the story of a beautiful bond that a father shares with his daughter. Daughters are special they say – Papa’s Princess. While mothers are the emotional ones, always expressing through anger, smiles and cries; a father always holds on to his tear ducts and holds the fort like a rock. He is the smooth grounding a family stands on, and Fanney Khan is that grounding in Atul Manjrekar’s narrative. He may not have the finances to provide his dear ones with all the luxury, but he sure has a loving heart full of affection second to none in the world.
The movie strikes the right cord for its plausibility and the fact the story seems relatable. Here are five scenes from the trailer that capture every father’s emotion aptly:
-
Fanney Khan names his daughter Lata, after the legendary Lata Mangeshkar
Fanney used to sing in the orchestra in his initial days. A great fan of Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar, the simple man only aspires for his daughter to become as big of an artist like his favourites. And thus, names his little one after the legendary Lata Mangeshkar.
-
“100 saal purane gaane”
The scene where Lata, Fanney’s daughter, tells him she won’t sing Lata Mangeshkar’s songs because they are a 100 years old is basically every teen these days. When have we ever agreed to what he picked for us, without a single argument?
-
“Iss dress ki kya jarurat hai?”
Every father ever! ‘Nuff said.
-
Your wish is his command!
There is nothing else a father wants than his children to be happy and get what they desire. And in helping you achieve your dreams, he will walk every mile by your side and be your support system to overcome all the odds.
-
There ain’t a cheerleader like your father, and there ain’t any guy who will love you like he does.
Let’s put it straight. A mother may always find you the best in the room, but it is a father to discipline your ways and put you on the right map when you get lost. He always wants the best for you and is also your biggest critic. Unconditional love, care and free advices, always. A father’s a father, and there is nobody else who will celebrate you the way he does, because it’s you first for him.
Fanney Khan is scheduled for a release on August 3, 2018. In case you have missed out on the trailer, we are posting the link for you here:
