Sajid Nadiadwala to remake R Madhavan and Arya starrer Vettai in Hindi?

Riding high on the success of his two back to back hits Judwaa and Baaghi 2, filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala has already set his eyes on his next blockbuster. If a report by a leading entertainment news portal is anything to go by, Nadiadwala has bought rights to the Tamil action-comedy Vettai (2012). While the South Indian version was a massive hit in its year of release, it yet remains to be seen whether or not the producer shall announce a Hindi remake soon.

Vettai starred R Madhavan and Arya in the lead roles. It also featured Sameera Reddy, Arya and Amala Paul in important roles while Ashutosh Rana, Thambi Ramaiah and Nassar played supporting roles. The plot revolves around two brothers who are poles apart. The elder brother (played by Madhavan) after the death of their father, a police officer, takes up his job. While Madhavan plays a lad sensitive to violence, his younger brother (played by Arya) helps him punish the suspects, secretly. Two angry goons set out to seek revenge and how the brothers get back at two gangs and protect their families follows the rest of the narrative.

If a Hindi remake of Vettai is on the cards, it would be interesting to see which two actors give a nod to play brothers on the silver screen. It is mention worthy that a remake of Ram Lakhan, starring Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor as brothers, has yet not taken off because no two heroes have agreed to play reel brothers. Will Nadiadwala be able to pull off the casting coup? Only time will tell.

Workwise, Nadiadwala's home banner has an impressive lineup including multi-starrer Kalank, Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 and Housefull 4. A sequel to Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez's Kick has also been announced and Christmas 2019 has been blocked for its release already. Baaghi 3 is in the pipeline too. All in all, the producer has quite a lavish spread!
