Anil Kapoor's next, Fanney Khan, is about a father's struggle to make her daughter's dreams come true. He will then be seen with his real-life daughter, Sonam Kapoor, in a film titled Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. The teaser of the film was recently released and it met with positive reviews.
Anil Kapoor is among the actors who have worked in Hindi cinema for long. He is known for his energy and fun. His last release, Race 3, despite getting negative reviews, went on to garner more than Rs 150 crore at the Box Office. He seems to be at peace both personally and professionally. However, things were not this perfect for the actor since always. He had his own struggling days.
Recently, while talking to a leading daily, Anil revealed how he had developed this habit of changing his name one after another when he wasn't getting any work in the industry. He told in a candid chat that when in the beginning he got a role in Vamsa Vakrusha, a Telugu film, he accepted it because it had a role for more than a minute. However, he didn’t want his name to sound like a north Indian name so he changed his name to AK Rao. He said, “if I would have retained my name as Anil Kapoor, then it would have given that north Indian flavour. That time, actors down south were like NT Rama Rao, Nageshwar Rao so I gave my name as AK Rao.”
In fact, he impersonated his brother’s name to get a movie too. The Race 3 actor changed his name to Achal Kapoor, which is Boney Kapoor’s real name.
However, at last, he probably realised that changing his name hasn't anything to do with his work. And therefore, he finally decided to get settles with his real name -- Anil Kapoor. He mentioned to the daily, "I thought because of my name (changed names), I wasn’t getting any work. That’s when I decided to stick to my own name, Anil Kapoor".
Well, as that famous saying goes -- Naam Me Kya Rakha Hai!
