Batti Gul Meter Chalu starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, and Yami Gautam has already created enough buzz. The film is all set to release on 14th September. The shoot of the film was recently wrapped up in Mumbai with a celebratory song Hard hard. The trailer is said to be out next month.
Apart from Mumbai, the major parts of the film were shot in Tehri, Uttarakhand. The film directed by Shree Narayan Singh is a social drama based on the struggles of a common man against the power distribution companies over exorbitant electricity bills.

The film was recently making headlines because of a three and a half minute long monologue which Shahid delivered without even a single cut. The monologue created buzz as it was longer than the one is Haider and is by far Shahid's longest no cut shot.
