Janhvi Kapoor is all set to make her Bollywood debut with her film Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter. Her foray into films is probably one of the most-talked-about debuts in recent years. Daughter of veteran actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, Janhvi comes from a family of film stars who are ruling the roost now. Coming from a film family, her pedigree is strong at the same time much scrutinized. The young actress boasts a considerable fan following even before her film is out in theatres. However, all these attention has not gone to her head and she has her feet firmly on the ground. In an interview given to a leading daily, she spoke about the close-knit bond her family shares and the fact that her mother Sridevi used to make her nervous.
When Janhvi was asked about attending events and parties with her parents made it easier for her to be in the spotlight, she said, “It was the way we as a family were. Khushi and I would always attend events with mom and dad. We would make it a family affair if my mom was performing or getting an award somewhere and if dad was shooting, we as a family would be there."

She further said "I was exposed to the media as I happened to be on these occasions with my parents. People thought my parents were pushing me into the limelight but it was nothing like that. If Manish Malhotra was having a fashion show, I just wanted to go and see it. The purpose was just that.”
Janhvi was further probed whether her parents dropped in on the sets of her debut film pretty often or not and the young debutante had this to say, “They were there the first day. I was comfortable around everyone but get nervous only around mom. So, I told her that I can’t have her around. Khushi dropped by for two days in Jaipur and mom was there for the shoot of the song Zingaat. Even Anshula didi came for a day. I wanted to be myself while shooting for Dhadak as I’ve been handheld by my family through most things in life. I wanted to be on my own. This (acting) is the only thing I know how to do without my mom. However, ironic that might sound. The set life is the only thing that I don’t associate with her. I feel closer to her when I’m on a film set but it is also the place where I feel that I don’t need her to be around.”
Isn't it ironical that Janhvi does not associate a film's set with her mother Sridevi, a veteran actress of more than 300 films? However, it is heartwarming to know that the actress was not a star to her daughters but a true-blue mother who pampered her kids and was there for every tantrum, pain, heartbreak, whims, and fancies of theirs.
