Janhvi Kapoor’s life is about to take a serious turn now that her debut film Dhadak is ready for release on July 20. The young actress is on a promotional spree and ensuring that her film gets the mileage needed for a good opening. However, in all the media interactions the young debutante has impressed with her modesty and the family ties about which she has fondly spoken about. In an interview given to a leading daily, Janhvi spoke about her family and what they mean to her.
Late Sridevi's elder daughter was asked about who is the most anxious in her family about her launch in Dhadak and contrary to belief, the young actress said that her father Boney Kapoor and elder brother Arjun Kapoor are very chilled out. However, her mother Sridevi was very anxious (in the past). Janhvi said, “Anshula didi and Khushi are the two people that I go to if I need a reality check or if I need to calm down. They are very honest and blunt, and they tell me things as they are.”

The untimely demise of Sridevi brought Boney, Janhvi, Khushi, Arjun and Anshula closer and it was heartening to see the family taking solace in each other. Talking about her family Janhvi said, “My family gives me strength and courage. I get emotional when I talk about them. Khushi and I are very different. I am the kid in our family, and everyone treats her as the more responsible and independent one."
Janhvi also spoke about the equation she shared with her mother Sridevi, "I am the one that needs to be babied, and my mom shared that equation with me. She liked to baby me, pamper me, as she knew that Khushi was too independent. I would tell her, ‘mamma khana chahiye (mom I’m hungry), mamma ni-ni nahin aa rahi hai (mom I can’t sleep)’. I am still like that, and now Khushi and Papa (Boney) have stepped into that role. My whole family has supported me so much; I want to really make them proud.”
