The film is based on a successful Marathi play Savita Damodar Paranjpe, which starred late actress Reema Lagoo.
The poster displays the face of a woman being drawn with a mangalsutra, and the name Savita Damodar Paranjpe can be seen written on it. The film, directed by Swapna Waghmare Joshi and releasing on August 31, features actors Subodh Bhave and Raqesh Bapat in the lead roles.
As for John, the actor-turned-producer is basking in the success of his last release - Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, in which he also starred. He has another patriotic drama, Satyameva Jayate, lined up for this Independence Day. The film is set for a clash with Akshay Kumar's Gold.
John also landed Romeo Akbar Walter following Sushant Singh Rajput's exit from the project. The Shootout At Wadala star will also feature in Nikhil Advani's Batla House.
