Batti Gul Meter Chalu now releasing on September 21, Shahid Kapoor confirms

The shift in the release date of films has become so common these days. After being deferred from its original release date twice, Shaihd Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu has undergone a makeover again. The Shree Narayan Singh's directorial will now be releasing on September 21.

Earlier, it was slated for release on September 14, which was not the date decided in the very beginning. The makers had decided to let the film hit the screens on August 31 first. However, a tiff with its previous producer, Prernaa Arora of KriRaj led to a delay in the shooting of the film.

Now, the new date has come to avoid the clash with Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree. The film features BGMC's leading lady, Shraddha Kapoor. And two films with one actress releasing in the same day could be the reason behind the shift.

Announcing this new development around the film, Shahid took to social media and wrote:

Interestingly, as per reports, Mira Rajput is going to deliver her second child around the same time as the film is going to release. Sasha is expected to wrap up all his promotions as soon as possible and take out time for paternity.

Moreover, the film has been through many legal brawls. From Vashu Bhaganani claiming his rights to Vipul K Rawal’s lawsuit filing, the film was caught up in many controversies. The issues have now settled and the film is all set to release this September.

The film, BGMC stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. The comedy-drama was shot in Uttarakhand and Mumbai. Hopefully, the shift of dates will work in the favour of the team.
