Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao and Divya Dutta starrer Fanney Khan’s new song was released on Thursday. After the first two songs, Aishwarya’s introductory song Mohabbat and the other romantic track Halka Halka which also featured Aishwarya and Rajkummar, this new track features the main lead Anil Kapoor and brings his hapless and dreary circumstance in the film. The song Achche Din will basically resonate with almost everyone who is waiting for a ray of hope in their difficult lives. The song showcases Anil’s difficult position of being a father who is unable to bring his and his daughter’s dreams to fruition.
Achche Din features a glum and defeated but persevering Anil wondering when his life will turn around. The song has been composed and sung by Amit Trivedi with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil. The song will become the go-to song for everyone who is feeling down and out as it beautifully brings out the woes of the common man and the weight of his crushed dreams.

The previous two songs Mohabbat and Halka Halka were both rehashes of popular old songs, Noor Jehan’s Jawan Hai Mohabbat (Anmol Ghadi, 1946) and Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Yeh Jo Halka Halka Suroor Hai, Achche Din is an original song from the film.
The song also showcases the friendship between Satish Kaushik and Anil as well as the bond shared between Rajkummar and Anil. It is endearing to note that Rajkummar and Anil’s camaraderie shows the fact that friendship is not based on age and sometimes we bond with people who are not our peers or contemporaries.
Anil can be seen saving money and then counting his savings at night, trying his luck at buying lottery tickets, everything that a common man tries to do to achieve his dreams. Achche Din also shows Anil imagining his daughter as a big successful pop star whose hoarding is mounted. The song gives the message that there is still hope for everyone's dreams to come true, all we need to do is keep on fighting and not letting the dream die.
The film is directed by debutant director Atul Manjrekar and releases on August 3.
