What’s going to happen to Vikas Bahl’s biopic Super 30 based on mathematician Anand Kumar with Hrithik Roshan playing the title role of the Bihar educationist famous for teaching economically backward students how to prepare for the IIT entrance exams? His coaching programme is named ‘Super 30’ which Bahl figured was a good title for his film. But there’s a storm brewing in Patna and Anand is now being accused of deceit and of making false claims about his success rate, etc. The mathematician has been maintaining a stoic silence while what started off as a controversy now threatens to snowball into a scam.

Being Bollywood aficionados and Hrithik Roshan fans, what we are interested in knowing is what happens to Bahl’s Super 30 now? According to a media report this morning, almost 80 per cent of the film that has been slated for release in January 2019 has been completed. Little is left. It would be a pity if it is scrapped because Hrithik, who surprisingly picked this bookish subject when his fans were waiting to see him get back to action, has not had a release since the lukewarm Kaabil in January 2017. And before that, he had Mohenjo Daro in August 2016 which was a disaster. The actor doesn’t just need a hit, he needs a film.
