I wanted to shoot the next day after mom's cremation: Janhvi Kapoor

The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar and has managed to live up to the hype created before its release.

Janhvi, who made her debut with Dhadak had a tough time coming to terms with her mother Sridevi’s untimely demise. She lost her mother during the shooting of the film which took a toll on her and made her grow up overnight. In an interview given to a leading magazine, the actress was questioned about if she is now emotionally a little settled, and Janhvi answered, “No. I haven't got around the acceptance stage yet. It's just that there hasn't been time or I haven't allowed myself the time to come to terms with everything. There's a stage of denial that we're all going through.” She further revealed, “I wanted to shoot the next day (after the cremation). But the shoot got canceled. I was like, No, I must go back, I need to be on the set. I thought I was going to lose my mind if I didn't do that. And I would have, promise you, if I didn’t have Dhadak. If I didn't have the opportunity to act or be in front of the camera, there would have been no purpose in life to keep me going.”

It must have been a tough time for Janhvi to smile and get clicked during all the media interactions that she had to do for the film’s promotion when she must be tearing inside, but the young actress proved everyone that she is made of sterner stuff and came through as a positive and a strong and determined person.
