Anil Kapoor’s film Fanney Khan is up for release that also stars Rajkummar Rao, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Pihu Sand, Satish Kaushik and Divya Dutta. The film is a heartwarming story of a father and daughter and harps on the adage that a dream never dies. Anil plays the role of a failed singer-musician who wants his daughter to achieve the fame, glory and the platform to showcase her talent which he could never achieve. The songs of the film have already found a place in people’s hearts and so has Anil's character who in order to fulfill his daughter’s dream ends up kidnapping a pop icon.

The makers of the film have released a video where we can see Anil getting into the character. The veteran actor at the ripe age of 60 is still a force to reckon with and holds the fort in all the scenes that he is seen in. Since he is essaying the main lead, Fanney Khan revolves around him and even though the film hasn’t released yet, Anil is able to portray the angst, the anxiety and the hapless circumstance that his character finds himself in. Anil has grasped the nerve of the character and we get to see that in the video.

In fact, the behind-the-scenes video shows some film footage and you get to see what a class act Anil is. He lights up the screen with his presence and everybody right from producer Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to director Atul Manjrekar to producer PS Bharathi are in awe of the actor.

Rajkummar is also seen in a couple of scenes where we get to see Anil and his camaraderie but it is the senior actor who steals the show right under the nose of the National Award winner. Anil has mastered his role of 'Fanney Khan' and by just the video we can say that no one else could have brought such a depth to the commonplace character.
