Actor-producer Anil Kapoor has been a mainstream Bollywood actor right from his debut days. The man never took a break or stayed away from the silver screen for a long time. However, quiz him on adding another feather to his cap by taking up direction and the Fanney Khan actor is quick to reply that he isn’t confident enough! While his elder daughter Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has expressed an interest in direction, Anil is happy being in front of the camera rather than behind it.
The veteran actor told a leading daily, “Everybody’s asked me to direct a film. When I worked with Vidhu Vinod Chopra on 1942 A Love Story, his team would tell me that I’d make a good director, but I don’t feel confident.” Apparently, the actor who is looking forward to the release of his upcoming film Fanney Khan says that he can’t think technically.

Speaking about how he perceives cinema, Anil told the daily, “I know it’s been over 20 years since the release of Parinda. But I was not confident then, and I’m not confident now. Even on the last day of the Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga… shoot, the team asked me why I didn’t feel like trying my hand at direction. But I can’t think technically. I can only think emotionally.”
Meanwhile, Anil’s film Fanney Khan is all set to release tomorrow. Besides Anil, the film stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Divya Dutta, Satish Kaushik and Pihu Sand in pivotal roles. Fanney Khan is the story about the fact that a dream never dies and shows the bond between a father and daughter. Anil plays the role of a failed singer who eventually becomes a taxi driver but harbours dreams of his daughter making it big as a singing sensation.
