In 2013, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan had invested in their dream house, a property next door from their Bandra residence. The A-list couple had bought four floors of a building and the property cost them a whopping Rs 48 crore back in the day but is still not ready for ready occupation. Each floor of the apartment had a 3BHK and measured about 3000 sq feet in area each. It was Saif’s dream project and he had expansive plans of having a terrace-garden on one floor, along with that a swimming pool, a gym, and a vast library as part of the layout on different floors.
However, the project is still not ready yet even when it’s been five years. When the Sacred Games actor was asked about the plans for his house and whether he intends to move into it soon, the actor told a leading daily, “That house has taken forever. We’re still renovating it, though we’ve changed a lot of things. The problem is that most flats in the building are rented to the American Consulate. So, we have to work between 9 am and 6 pm on weekdays. It’s already taken a year longer than it should have. With this delay, I am losing out on the rental money. I like the place I am living in, though I should hurry up on the other house, too.”

Saif, who has been conferred the title of Nawab of Pataudi after his father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi’s demise also has ancestral homes in Bhopal which are under litigation at the moment. Talking about these properties, Saif told the leading daily, “There are huge amounts of land and property there and also ongoing court cases. It’s one of those liabilities and responsibilities that I have to eventually take over from my mother. I’m already stuck in two of those cases. Today, it’s mine, but in the future; my children might have to take over if the cases go on for too long.”
He further added, “Currently, I don’t have the time to park myself in Bhopal and I am not interested in doing that either. I have a lawyer to represent me there. We will have to figure out how much we should invest in these cases and weigh our options. We have to be responsible about it. It’s sad, but I don’t think we will have an ancestral home there in the near future. We might have to sell off everything because we don’t want to spread ourselves too thin. I might as well stick to Mumbai and Pataudi.” We hope that Saif's property woes come to an end soon.
