Actress Dia Mirza, who was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, returned to films after a long hiatus of four years. While the film has received rave reviews and has been raking in moolah at the box-office, Dia also earned praise for her portrayal of Sanjay Dutt’s on-screen wife (as Maanayata Dutt).
Now in a recent interview with a leading daily, Dia opened up on her comeback and spoke at length how staying away from the film business was a "conscious choice" and had nothing to do with her marriage. The actress is overwhelmed and feels wonderful on the kind of love she has received post the release on Sanju and terms it as a very special film for her.
Speaking on her return to films, she said that she was perhaps waiting for the right opportunities amid the kind of roles that were offered to me. Dia added, "It had nothing to do with me being married or not. If anything, it had to do with the way the industry responds to you after being married. The kind of roles, the kind of parts with which people approach you suddenly seem to completely change after marriage. But, things are changing and I’m hopeful that the quality of parts being offered will as well."

She in fact is content that she has had the opportunity to seek life experiences outside the films as well during her sabbatical.
On being further prodded if she's reading any more scripts or is keen to experiment with the web space, she added, "Lots of interesting things are happening. I’ve been reading very interesting film scripts. I’m also doing some interesting work in the web space. I’m looking forward to the rest of the year and doing some work that’ll be exciting and helping me grow as an actor."
Well, we cannot wait for the stunning actress to charm us once again on the silver screen.
