Sanjay Dutt and Mahesh Bhatt are coming back with Sadak 2. The original Sadak, released in 1991, had established both Bhatt and Dutt as two of the strongest pillars of the Hindi film industry. The filmmaker had announced that he's bringing the actor back in the same character, who's now aged and "seeing the 21st-century-world collapsing in front of his eyes". He also said, "The story has the emotional connect of the films I made back in the ’90s. I could see that in the reaction of those present in the narration. They were visibly moved".

Now, as per an Instagram post by Bhatt's daughter, Pooja Bhatt, the work on Sadak 2 has begun. Expressing her excitement and how glad she is to see his father collaborating with Dutt again, Pooja posted:

Earlier, PeepingMoon had reported that apart from Dutt, Sadak 2 will also feature Alia Bhatt. The report also stated that while Pooja will not be a part of it, the other members of the Bhatt family will be involved. It will be presented by Mahesh Bhatt and Vishesh Films and will be produced by Mukesh Bhatt. As per our sources, the film will hit the screens on November 15, next year.

Both Pooja and Sanjay Dutt were loved for their chemistry in Sadak. A sequel to the film definitely seems like a good idea. However, it will be too soon to make any conjecture about its storyline!

As for Alia's role in the film, an official confirmation from the makers' end is awaited. She has got two biggies up her sleeves already -- Brahmastra and Kalank. In fact, the rumours are also rife that she'll be seen with Kareena Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in a yet-to-be-titled period drama, directed by Karan Johar.
