Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput are expecting their second child together in October and while the would-be parents are looking forward to adding on a new member to their family they are also finishing up their work commitments. Mira has recently featured in an advertisement for a popular skin cream brand. While some have called her out on the negative beauty expectations the advertisement espouses and the hypocrisy of a 23-year-old propagating anti-wrinkle cream, many applauded the star-wife on her comfort level in front of the camera.

Today during a media interaction on the occasion of the trailer launch of his upcoming film Batti Gul Meter Chalu Shahid was asked about his wife’s debut in the advertisement world and whether she would like to try her hand at acting too. To this Shahid said, “When Mira does a press conference then please ask her this. She is a modern girl and has a mind of her own. So if you think that I have got a control over her thoughts then you’re wrong."

Mira made her first appearance on Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan along with Shahid and the episode was well-loved and one of the most popular episodes of the season. Her natural and effortless presence in front of the camera made many wonder, whether she would like to take up acting. The speculations also started because in one of the interviews when she was pregnant with her first child Misha, she said that she would like to take up a career or a profession post giving birth. Now, we wonder whether she is actively trying her hand at acting and the advertisements are the first step to her big launch, after all, Bollywood is well-known for launching family members.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid is all set for his upcoming release Batti Gul Meter Chalu opposite Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. He will also be seen in the Hindi remake of Telugu hit Arjun Reddy and has signed a three-film deal with a big production house as well.
