Anil Kapoor talks about Hollywood plans, Sridevi's death and why he rejected Chandni

Anil Kapoor has been in the show-business for over 40 years and has made a mark in Indian and international cinema. The filmmakers started noticing him after Woh 7 Din in 1982 and there's no looking back ever since. Decades later, people still remember him for films like Tezaab, Ram Lakhan, Beta and Mr. India.

In fact, in a lot of films including Lamhe, Judaai and Mr. India too, he was paired with his sister-in-law, the late actress, Sridevi. The actress, who passed away in February this year, was married to Anil's elder brother, Boney Kapoor. Talking about her demise, Anil told in an interview with a leading daily, "It is one of the most unfortunate things to have ever happened. Every night, my wife and I talk about her. There's not a single day when we don't miss her."

Speaking of Sridevi, Anil was also offered Chandni opposite the actress but he had refused the film and the role later went to Rishi Kapoor. When asked about it, he revealed, "I had said no to Chandni, because I didn't want to sit in a wheelchair." However, the decision wasn't exactly quaint. "I was just not in a frame of mind to sit in a wheelchair through an entire film. I was, in fact, one of the first people to call Yash ji and tell him, "Picture hit hai!" He couldn't believe it. I had done two films [Mashaal, Vijay] with him, and both hadn't done well." he added.

The actor was further prodded if he still has plans to pursue Hollywood, to which he replied, "I am at a certain age and time, as far as family is concerned, when I can't pursue it aggressively. If it comes, good; but I can't move base. If I get an offer for which I have to leave for a year, obviously I will have to say no. It has to be on my terms and conditions."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Anil was recently seen in Fanney Khan, also starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao.
