Akshay Kumar starrer upcoming historical sports drama film Gold has created a great buzz in town even before its release. The film is slated to release on August 15 and going by the patriotic feel of the film, it's looking towards a very good start at the Box Office.

As Gold talks about India's first Gold medal after Independence and to celebrate the day, the makers turned the iconic landmarks across the nation into 'Gold' for the first time.

In order to celebrate the iconic day, six cities across the nation turned into Gold.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai, Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, Statue Circle in Jaipur, PVR Plaza Connaught place in Delhi, Prinsep Ghat in Kolkata, JK Temple in Kanpur And Magarpatta city in Pune turned Golden.

Akshay himself was in Delhi along with Mouni Roy, director Reema Kagti and Ritesh Sidhwani. Amit Sadh, Vineet Kumar Singh and Sunny Kaushal went to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai to celebrate the day. The makers and the stars posted a letter on their social handles informing about India turning Gold.

After PadMan, Gold is Akshay Kumar's second film this year. The film marks the Bollywood debut of TV actress Mouni Roy plus Akshay's first collaboration with Excel Entertainment and director Reema Kagti.
