Priyanka Chopra left Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat opposite Salman Khan in the ‘Nick of time’ and leaving the film in the doldrums. The news broke the internet especially because it started rumours of the actress getting engaged to her American singer-actor boyfriend Nick Jonas. Later, it was reported that Priyanka had signed another Hollywood project opposite Chris Pratt in Cowboy Ninja Viking, but now the film has been stalled indefinitely. Priyanka’s place in Bharat has been taken up by Katrina Kaif, but the former is trying to mend relations with Salman and his family. She recently took to Twitter to congratulate Salman’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma for the trailer of his upcoming film Loveratri. However, the olive branch was not well received by the ‘Khaandan’ who maintained a stony silence.

Interestingly, Arpita and Priyanka have been thick friends for years.

A leading daily's source reported, “The way Priyanka handled the entire exit from Bharat was graceless. I don’t think Salman and his family has taken the snub very well. She may think being sweet to Salman’s family would thaw him. And she has succeeded in the past in bringing him around by befriending his sisters. But this time it won’t work.”

Apparently, reports were coming in that Priyanka was not happy with the scope of her role especially since a lot of actors have been added to the film and the female lead’s role was curtailed.

However, what remains to be seen is that Salman recently stated that "some other reasons" were given to the actor by PeeCee stating her abrupt exit and that he is "really happy for her that she has signed a big film in Hollywood." Although, when asked if the reason was Priyanka’s alleged wedding plans with Nick Jonas, Salman quoted, “That might be the reason but this (her new Hollywood project) is also a reason. Whatever reason it is, whether marriage or film or she does not want to work in India or she does not want to work with me and only Hollywood films and TV shows, it's her decision."
