Watch: On Sridevi’s Birthday event, Boney Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor break down in tears

On late actor, Sridevi’s 55^th birth anniversary yesterday, husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor could not control their emotions and broke down during a function as they remembered her achievements and the integral part that she held in their lives. Sridevi was being honoured for her contribution to Indian cinema and her family was at a special screening of her film Mr.India at Films Division in New Delhi. Boney while talking about the late superstar got very emotional and Janhvi could not hold back her tears.

Boney said during the event talking about his departed wife, “My love story with Sridevi is an open book. Whatever matters of the heart that can be shared is all in the public domain. What is most close (about her) will remain in the heart. That’s my support system for life.”

Boney also took the names of his children actor Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor from his first wife Mona Shourie Kapoor and said that they have been his strength after Sridevi’s death. He said, “The way they have accepted Janhvi and Khushi... That has made me feel very relieved. My all four children are my strength.”

Boney’s heartfelt words for Sridevi moved everyone to tears. Speaking about her goodwill he said, “Today this vacuum, this void cannot be replaced but the good wishes and the goodwill that she has left behind is something that we can live with. She is with me, in my memories, with my children.”

The event was a retrospective on the veteran actor organized by the Films Division, Information and Broadcasting Ministry in New Delhi. Sridevi’s iconic films like Mom, Lamhe, English Vinglish, Chandni, and Sadma will be shown in the retrospective. Sridevi won the National Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film Mom posthumously. Sridevi acted in 300 films in a career spanning 50 years. Besides, Hindi she also acted in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films.
