The film is not just the story of a couple who decides to utilise their talent in the best possible way, but it also focuses on self-reliability, independence of work and fighting to get the due credit for your hardwork.

Directed and written by Sharat Katariya, Sui Dhaaga has been made as part of the PM's Make In India campaign. There's a dialogue in the trailer in which Anushka's character defines the spirit of the film by saying, "Apni banayi cheezon par apni mohar laga ke bechenge..." At the trailer launch of the film, Anushka had mentioned that shooting for Sui Dhaaga made her feel more 'homely'. She said, "Sharat gave me a domestic environment, the feeling of getting married and being at home, which I never got it before. After getting married, I don't even get that much time to spend with my husband (Virat Kohli)".

She added, "But the fact that, in this film to stay in that world of domestic set-up, to be in the kitchen, I really got to live in a homely atmosphere. So thank you Sharat. The moment I got married, they got me to Sui Dhaaga. It was literally like that".

Produced by YRF's Maneesh Sharma, Sui Dhaaga - Made in India is slated for release on September 28.
