As the nation celebrates its 72nd Independence Day, celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar commemorated the occasion by wishing their fans and followers on social media. While Big B shared a poem written by his father, legendary poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, SRK posted a picture of his son AbRam, raising the Indian flag.

The Raees actor, on Instagram, wrote that he is celebrating Independence Day at home “with our future generation of gentle, kind & pure Indians”.

Meanwhile, Akshay dedicated his post to the brave soldiers who “fought for our freedom and to those who fight for us day and night at the borders to keep us safe”. Ranveer, on the other hand, posted a picture of himself hoisting the flag with a group of children. Priyanka’s post was patriotic enough as she shared a video in which she expounded her definition of freedom.

Filmmaker Karan Johar also celebrated Independence Day by posing for a memorable picture with his mother Hiroo Yash Johar and his twins – Yash and Roohi, in the backdrop of the flag. But guess what we loved the most – of course, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s adorable son Taimur’s wish.

The paparazzi photographed Taimur, cute as a button, in a tricolor tee on August 15. Needless to mention, pictures of Taimur went viral on social media soon after they were made available and were circulated vehemently by his fans.
