Vajpayee was a well-respected and revered leader and his death has plunged the entire nation into sorrow. Today, during his funeral procession Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke all protocols and without taking into account his security, walked the entire way behind Vajpayee’s mortal body which is a testimony to the respect and regard that he commanded.
Vajpayee became the Prime Minister of India three times, although he completed his full term only once. During his tenure, he clocked several achievements such as Pokhran nuclear tests, Kargil war and earned the respect of the world. Today, most of the agendas and projects that he lighted are being carried forward and has helped the nation in the development and scientific progress. With Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s demise, the nation has lost one of the biggest gems it ever possessed. It is a dark day indeed as the entire nation is plunged into deep sorrow and will have to make lots of amends to come to terms with the deep loss.
