Rajkummar Rao and the filmmakers of his upcoming film Stree had teased their fans yesterday by announcing a new song from the film Aao Kbhi Haveli Pe and shared quite a few hilarious memes as well. ‘Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe’ is a popular internet meme featuring Amrish Puri that went viral last year and is still very popular. Now it has been taken up in a song from the horror-comedy film Stree which also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana and Pankaj Tripathi. The Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe song just dropped and it is a special number that features Kriti Sanon and Badshah.
Keeping in line with the theme of the film, the song is shot as a spook-fest and we get to see Kriti who is actually a zombie-ghost swiping right on a skeleton instead of choosing Badshah or Rajkummar. The song is pretty catchy and Kriti has done a swell job dancing to the tunes. The song is composed by Sachin-Jigar. It has been sung by Badshah, Nikhita Gandhi and Sachin-Jigar. The lyrics have been penned by Badshah and Jigar Saraiya.
Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe is a pretty funny and lighthearted song and gives you the vibe that you’re watching Michael Jackson’s Thriller or Backstreet Boys Everybody (Backstreet's Back) and also has a major Halloween look to it. Rajkummar and Badshah do try to look scary by sporting vampire teeth and a skeletal eye underneath an eye patch respectively. In fact, Badshah even makes his appearance in the song in a coffin like a mummy, but he is not bound. Rajkummar’s entry starts with him mouthing the lines, “Lo Main Aa Gaya” and showcasing bloodshot red eyes. Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe stays true to the spirit of the film and is a horror-comedy song, which we’re sure audiences will love.
Stree is based on a true phenomenon and has been directed by debutant director Amar Kaushik. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films. It releases on August 31.
