Veteran actor Dharmendra opens up on the possibility of a biopic based on his life

Legendary actor Dharmendra is all set to return to films with Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, which also stars his two sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. The Deol trio is currently busy promoting their upcoming film in full swing.

Considering that a lot of biopics are being made on famous personalities, Dharmendra was asked if he would like to have a biopic made on him. To which he replied, "I have always drunk a lot of alcohol, but I’ve never done anything that has been termed wrong or disgusting. So if a biopic is made on my life, nothing needs to be filtered. I have never shown any kind of infidelity or betrayal towards anyone in my life," a news agency quoted him as saying.

Well, it seems the actor was hinting at the white-washing of Sanjay Dutt's character in Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju.

Further revealing that he hasn't thought much about his biopic, the actor added, "I have been told to write an autobiography. But I have stayed away from things that force me to showcase my achievements. It is not that I do not want a biopic to be made, but I don’t know when it will happen. I guess there is a right time for everything."

However, on the other hand, his son Sunny is, in fact, keen to make a biopic on his father only if he gets a good writer and a director to invest time on the project. He had told a news agency, "It cannot be random. Since everyone knows everything about him, it must be put out in a nice way. Research will not be a problem, because my father is there to share the story."

Meanwhile, their upcoming film Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is an action-comedy film, directed by Navaniat Singh. It is a sequel to the 2013 film, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 and the third installment of Yamla Pagla Deewana film series. The film stars Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Kriti Kharbanda in lead roles and is scheduled for release on August 31.
