Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol starrer Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is looking to be one helluva ride. The third installment of the popular Deol franchise Yamla Pagla Deewana has got the audience excited with its hilarious dialogues in the trailer. Even the songs have made the right noise. However, the much-awaited medley song Rafta Rafta of Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se just dropped and it was definitely worth the wait. Other than the three Deols, the song has Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Shatrughan Sinha and Rekha setting the stage on fire.
Dharmendra-Salman
Rafta Rafta Medley starts with a bang where we see Dharmendra and Salman on a brilliantly lighted stage mouthing each other’s famous dialogues like, “Swagat Nahi Karoge Hamara,” and “Iss story mein emotion hai, drama hai, tragedy hai.” However, we see a role reversal as Salman is mouthing Dharmendra’s dialogue and vice versa. The two actors who have often said that they share a very loving and cordial relationship look as if they are thoroughly enjoying sharing screen space with each other.

Sonakshi Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha
Sonakshi’s entry in the song is another talking point especially when the medley is interspersed with the music of Salman’s Hum Aapke Hain Koun song Didi Tera Devar Deewana. She is joined by her father Shatrughan and his famous dialogue, “Khamosh” is actually uttered by Sonakshi which leaves the veteran actor flabbergasted.
Sonakshi dances on the hit song, “O Mere Sona Re” which originally starred Asha Parekh and Shammi Kapoor. It is also a take on Sonakshi’s pet name as she is lovingly called Sona. She later joins Salman and Dharmendra and manages to pull off their Salman’s signature step from Dabangg and Dharmendra’s hook step too.
Rekha
Veteran actor Rekha proves yet again why she still reigns as the queen. She appears mouthing dialogues from her film and then proceeds to shake a leg to her iconic song Salaam-e-Ishq.
Her moves are graceful and elegant and even at her age, the legendary actress can surely give all the young heroines a run for their money. Salman and Dharmendra join her in the song and so does Sonakshi.
Yamla Pagla Deewana Mastana
The song comes to an end when Bobby and Sunny join the Rekha, Salman, Dharmendra, and Sonakshi in the song as well. The high point is when they all attempt to mimic Sunny’s dance step from his film Jeet, which has often been made fun of. Since Sunny is well known to have two left feet when it comes to dancing, it is funny seeing everyone copy his steps. They all go Yamla Pagla Deewana Mastana at the end of the song dancing like no one’s watching and letting their hair loose.
This was one song which has not fallen short of expectations and proved well worth the hype. Rafta Rafta Medley bears testimony to the fact that the actors really had a gala time shooting for the song. Remo D’Souza who has choreographed the song has done an amazing job by giving each actor their own piece. Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is directed by Navaniat Singh and releases on August 31, 2018.
