Anurag Basu’s Life In A Metro that released in 2007 was a surprise hit and not only received critical acclaim but also garnered good collections at the box office. After his last Jagga Jasoos failed to impress the audience, the filmmaker announced a sequel to the film and the casting for the project has been the talk of the trade since the announcement.
Buzz is that actors like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Rajkummar Rao among others have already been approached for the film. Now as per a report in a leading trade website, Abhishek Bachchan might also be a part of the project.
The report suggests that Junior Bachchan has been approached for the film and he has also given a green signal to it. Moreover, is it touted that Rajkummar has already been finalized for one of the roles. Despite Abhishek and Rajkummar being part of the film, we will see him starring in two different stories. While there has been no official confirmation about the film's cast, it will certainly be exciting to see these two powerhouses collaborating for the much-awaited sequel.
Rumours are also rife that Ileana D'cruz has also been approached for Life In A Metro 2. In fact, Anurag had earlier clarified that since it is an ensemble cast, getting the dates from multiple stars is difficult and hence the casting is taking time.
On a related note, the sequel is apparently all set to go on floors in October end. Anurag is currently working on the final edit of the script and at the same time, locking the cast as well.
Life In A Metro had four different stories set in the city and each told a very poignant and important tale of human relationships. The film starred Kay Kay Menon, Kangana, Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Sharman Joshi, Irrfan, Konkana Sen Sharma, Dharmendra and Nafisa Ali.
