I don’t even know if I am good enough to do it: Shah Rukh Khan talks about a Hollywood debut

Shah Rukh Khan is regarded as King Khan and Badshah of Bollywood. He has held his throne in the show business for many decades now. Yet, unlike his contemporaries, he never ventured into the ‘bigger picture’ or Hollywood. Recently, he spoke at length to a leading daily about if he has any plans for a Hollywood debut. “I look at the moon every day but I don’t reach for it. It started with Om Puri ji and now Priyanka, Irrfan and so many others are doing it. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is getting some films. Amit ji (Amitabh Bachchan) has done some, Anupam Kher too has and it’s wonderful," shared the actor.

“But I have never been offered an opportunity.” Adding his signature humour and wit, he stated, “I don’t even know if I am good enough to do it. I think my English is a little weak.” While a Hollywood debut is surely not on cards for SRK, his optimism hasn’t died. In fact, it seems that the Badshah of Bollywood indeed has much bigger plans. He revealed, “My own attempt is to make Indian films watched at that level.”

“Again, not taking away from the greatness of anything that others have achieved, I’d like Tom Cruise to say one day that ‘I’ve been given a chance in a Hindi film’. Man! That will be wonderful. Christopher Nolan would say that there is a producer in India who wants him to make a film. Inshallah! That will happen” he asserted.

On the work front, Shah Rukh is currently busy with his ambitious project Zero. The film stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif alongside SRK and is directed by Aanand L Rai.
