It, indeed, is an exciting phase for Shahid Kapoor as both – his personal, as well as professional life, demands equal attention from him. The 37-year-old actor is all set to welcome his second child with wife Mira in October and is simultaneously gearing up for the release of his new film Batti Gul Meter Chalu.

Not that Shahid will get a moment to breathe after Batti Gul Meter Chalu releases since he will begin work on the Arjun Reddy remake soon after. Although Shahid tried his level best to take an extended break, he, unfortunately, couldn’t and will get only one week off after his child’s birth, he said during an interview with a leading daily.
"During Misha's birth in 2016, I took a couple of months off. This time too, I was negotiating to take a month-long break, but things didn't work out. I will get only a week off from work. It is too short a duration, but such are the circumstances," Shahid told the daily.
In the midst of an arduous schedule though, Shahid did spend time with Mira as both were spotted at outings and dinner dates. Speaking of paternity leaves, Shahid added that he has the freedom of taking offs as per his convenience owing to his profession but it is also important to strike a balance between work and family.
"I am self- employed, so I think I have more freedom (to take leaves as per my convenience). If I don't want to work for a certain period, I can do that. Having said that, life is all about finding the right balance,” Shahid added.
Shahid married Delhi-based Mira in a private ceremony in Gurgaon in 2015. Their first child, daughter Misha, was born a year later.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu, meanwhile, is scheduled to release on September 21.
