Tiger Shroff is the newest actor on the block who has managed to make a mark in Bollywood. The young actor is particularly popular among the youngsters because of his dancing and martial arts skills and his drool-worthy body. After the super success of Baaghi 2, the Heropanti actor has definitely become the flavor of the season.
The 28-year-old has already started looking forward to the third installment of the action franchise Baaghi with director Ahmed Khan and is all set for Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2, but is keen on scouting for more projects. As reported by a leading daily, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is keen to rope in Tiger for his next directorial which in all probability will be based on an upcoming Amish Tripathi book.
A source told the leading daily, “Contrary to speculation, the book in question is not The Immortals of Meluha but along similar lines. It is yet to be released and could hit the bookstores around the same time as the film’s arrival if everything falls into place. SLB and Tiger have had several meetings on the subject and both are keen to join hands with Amish on what will undoubtedly be one of the most-talked-about projects in recent times. Tiger is yet to give the nod given his packed schedule, but is trying to work out the dates as he doesn’t want to lose out on the opportunity of working with one of his favourite directors.”
Amish’s Shiva Trilogy - The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas and The Oath of the Vayuputras, were the fastest selling book series in the history of Indian publishing. The Indian readers took a fancy to the series which was peppered with Hindu mythology but told a different tale. Karan Johar had bought the rights of the trilogy and wanted to make the films with Karan Malhotra as director. It was rumoured that Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor would play the lead. However, nothing materialized out of it and Karan finally surrendered the rights to the book fearing repercussions as the book was based on mythology and Lord Shiva.
Amish’s upcoming book is again going to be a mix of adventure, fantasy, and mythology which is something SLB is famous for bringing it to life on screen. Tiger, with his chiseled six-packs and his martial arts skills, would be perfect to essay such a role and the genre will be a new thing for him to experiment with. On the other hand, since the Shiva Trilogy’s Indian as well as Hollywood projects did not take off, this would be a good option for a theatrical launch of Amish's works. However, we hope that this does make it to the screens and do not get quashed at the storyboard sessions.
