Saif Ali Khan's Go Goa Gone, that released in 2013 was one of the initial Bollywood horror comedies that did well at the box-office. Five years from then, the team is ready to bring the second film in the franchise and Saif will be seen reprising his character of Boris in the film.
Now talking about taking the franchise ahead, director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK revealed to a leading daily that they felt it was the right time to take their absurd comedy ahead. Raj added, "Wherever we go, people kept asking for the next part to Go Goa Gone. We realized that there must be something about the film, which the people really connected with. So, both DK and I decided that we should come up with a sequel. We were working on an idea and it came through really well."
Interestingly, the film will be set in Manali and will go on floors in the second quarter of 2019. Revealing further details, producer Dinesh Vijan said, "It’s a really crazy fun script. Last time, we had zombies. This time, Saif and the gang will fight aliens. It’s set in Manali and has been titled Go Goa Gone 2: Babaji Ki Booty. We plan to begin shoot sometime in the second quarter of 2019 because otherwise, Manali will be too cold for us to shoot in."
On a related note, two more fascinating characters will apparently be added to the original cast, as suggested by Raj and DK. The makers are finishing the final draft of the script and the casting will begin soon.
Meanwhile, Saif had earlier said that he is looking at the film as a successful franchise and can't wait to start working actively on the project. Well, it goes the same for us with Go Goa Gone 2 getting bigger and better!
