Kangana Ranaut’s trouble over her ambitious project Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has no end in sight. After the unnecessary controversy of her taking over the reins of direction from director Krish Jagarlamudi for some patchwork as he was busy shooting the NTR biopic, it was Sonu Sood’s exit from the film that made the most news.
Sonu’s role will now be played by Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub who starred with Kangana in the film Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Now as reported by a leading trade portal Kangana is all set to incorporate a larger-than-life song in the film which will feature herself along with Ankita Lokhande.
The song will be choreographed by ace choreographer Ganesh Acharya and will be shot in the next 10 days. The song is said to be as grand as Dola Re Dola from Devdas and Pinga from Bajirao Mastani.
A source told the entertainment portal, “This is a very important film for Kangana and when she looked at the last edit of the film, she was extremely unhappy. But with such a brilliant story and plot, there’s a lot that can be done and the director has not utilized the talent at all. And with all the research Kangana herself has done for this film, it is but natural for her to take over the film. Also, this will be the first time Kangana is going to be seen doing a dance number like this.”
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is Kangana’s pet project and she is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the period-drama lives up to the hype and expectations. Besides Kangana, Manikarnika also stars Jisshu Sengupta as Gangadhar Rao, Atul Kulkarni as Tatya Tope, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub as Sadashiv, Suresh Oberoi as Peshwa Bajirao II, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi as Puran Singh and Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkaribai.
