Sushmita Sen is all set to make her comeback on screen with a crime-based drama after a hiatus of eight years, a leading website reports. In Bollywood, the 42-year-old actress was last seen in 2010’s No Problem and had mentioned at an event in August that she is currently reading scripts and will announce her new project in due time.
Sources, in the meantime, told the website that Sushmita has finalised a project, which will begin filming towards the end of 2018. Sushmita has been cast as a tough cop in the film and stars as the protagonist. The project was offered to her earlier this year.
“Sushmita was approached for a movie that plays out in a small town in which her character is the protagonist. It’s a crime-based drama set in Madhya Pradesh wherein she plays a tough cop,” the website quoted a source as saying.
After the script was narrated to Sushmita, she apparently provided her inputs and agreed to do it. However, she will sign the project after the modalities are worked out.

“Meanwhile, the film has changed hands — there’s a new director who will be on board. Sushmita, too, gave her inputs after she heard the narration. The makers decided to alter the script and make the necessary changes, post which, she gave a go ahead. The modalities are currently being worked out. Once that is done, she will sign on the dotted line,” the source added.
Sushmita, though, hasn’t issued an official confirmation as yet and is expected to do so by October.
