Sonam Kapoor didn’t even stop for a breath after her wedding to Anand Ahuja. Why? Because work. The 33-year-old actress left for France to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival days after her marriage while promotional duties for her film Veere Di Wedding kept her busy upon her return. Cut to September – Sonam has already started filming The Zoya Factor opposite Dulquer Salmaan and she certainly loves it.
Directed by Abhishek Sharma, The Zoya Factor is based on Anuja Chauhan's book and co-stars Angad Bedi.
In an interview with a news agency, Sonam, in the meantime, explained why she signed The Zoya Factor, saying that she was in the mood to do a “light-hearted film” after 2014’s Khubsoorat opposite Fawad Khan. In fact, everybody supported her decision of playing Zoya as well.
"Everybody thought I should play Zoya. It is a fun part. I wanted to do something light-hearted but everyone wanted me to do drama. After Khubsoorat, I am doing a light-hearted film. Abhishek Sharma (director) is an amazing person. I have started shooting with Dulquer Salmaan,” Sonam told the agency.
During her interview, Sonam also spoke of her career and said that she is glad that it has been shaping well after her 2013 film Raanjhanaa’s release.
"From the time Raanjhanaa released, things are looking good. I am really happy about it. I had a couple of directors who believed in me and also there was a shift in perception. It has been six years and thank God I have not seen any film that has failed," Sonam added.
