Director Shree Narayan Singh of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha fame, is back with another tale based on social issues. His film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu, deals with the problems of electricity and its shortage, especially in the rural areas. It stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Yami Gautam and Divyendu Sharma in the lead roles.
After an interesting trailer and songs, the makers have now released a behind-the-scenes video from the film's sets. And we must say, Shahid and Shraddha along with the cast and crew of BGMC, certainly seemed to have a gala time shooting the film.

From the first shot to getting different scenes right, the video showcases different stages of film-making in process. It also focuses on the camaraderie shared between Shahid, Shraddha and Divyendu Sharma and how they had fun shooting for the scenes together. Both Shahid and Shraddha can also be seen working on their dance sequences and shooting in the picturesque town of Tehri in Uttarakhand which serves as a perfect backdrop. But it is perhaps the director who has won our hearts in the BTS video with his funny antics.
Meanwhile, talking about the film, Shahid had earlier revealed to us that Batti Gul Meter Chalu is the kind of movie that is significant to people who live beyond Mumbai. "The reason we made this film is because there is a certain section of the junta beyond your regular metropolis, who face a shortage of electricity. Around 32 million people don’t have a single light bulb in their homes. When I learned about this, it came as a huge shock to me," shared the actor. For the uninitiated, Shahid plays a lawyer in the upcoming film.
Produced by T-Series and Kriti Pictures, Batti Gul Meter Chalu will hit the theatres on September 21, 2018.
