She’s a one-woman army, says Abhishek Bachchan on wife Aishwarya Rai

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai tied the knot in 2007, and since then, this power couple of Bollywood has stood by each other through thick and thin. They are also doting parents to their six-year-old daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. Now in a recent interview with a leading daily, Abhishek got candid about his wife and daughter and how being a family man has changed him over the years.

Talking about his wife Aishwarya, the actor said, "When I was single, I would just pack my bags with the essentials and head off. Now that I am a family man, I try to put some effort into packing for all of us. But before I can get to it, I find that Aishwarya has already done everything that needs to be done. She’s a one-woman army, I must say."

He further talked about how kids nowadays are mature enough and added, "Today’s children are able to adapt so much more quickly than us or our parents. Each of us has a different journey of parenthood." Reminiscing about his childhood days, Abhishek said, "I was very naughty, that’s what my mother tells me. But I feel most boys are that way growing up.”

When prodded if his daughter Aaradhya would be sent to boarding school, just like him, he quipped, "We haven’t discussed it yet. I remember, when I was in boarding school, I would often write a letter to my dad. But today’s children are technology driven. Aaradhya writes me notes sometimes when I am out of town. But we usually stay in touch through FaceTime."

Well, we certainly agree with Abhishek that children are more technologically advanced than their parents were at that age.

Meanwhile, on the work front, he is back on the silver screen after a two-year hiatus with Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan. The film, also starring Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, is slated to release on September 14.
