Taapsee Pannu to replace Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Shailesh R. Singh's cop drama?

Audiences were curiously awaiting the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan starrer cop drama which was produced by Shailesh R. Singh. However, since there was no progress on the film since February, Aishwarya and Abhishek stepped out of the project. Abhishek confirmed the news to a daily and said, "The cop movie is not happening." Now, reports suggest that it is Taapsee Pannu who might take up the role.

In spite of having no developments for a few months, the film has not been shelved. The daily reported, "Shailesh and his team of writers have reworked the script. It’s still a drama, but with humorous undertones. The main characters are two IPS officers who are married to each other." The makers suggested Taapsee's name for the strong character because of how effortlessly she has delivered powerful performances in the recent past. "The makers have discussed the idea with her. It’s a strong female character, so the producers were looking out for someone with substance to deliver the part. Taapsee is yet to get a proper narration. Only then will she decide whether she wants to do it or not,”
